GU-24 based lamps are new, ENERGY STAR® qualified technology that utilizes a twist-lock base style instead of a screw base. The "24" in the name designates the distance between the connectors (there are also GU-10 for LED MR16s, for instance, with a shorter distance between the connectors).
These GU-based bulbs are specifically for use in many new fixtures that have been designed for energy-efficiency and which will only accept this new style base type. In order to use these new bulbs in older fixtures, GREENLITE also offers base adapters (shown at right above) through which a GU bulb can be converted to a screw-in base.
GREENLITE makes uncovered "bare" GU-24 bulbs and covered bulbs in the standard "A" shape and reflector shapes of multiple wattages and in both 2700ºK and 4100ºK color temperatures.
